New York, New York

I’m in New York this weekend. It’s my brother’s birthday and also I needed to get away for a few days and just enjoy the liveliness of New York.

I’m going to see a good friend today whom I haven’t seen for 2 years. He’s Russian, lived in NY for 14, 15 years moved to SF for a few years and now back in NY again. One of the most interesting people I know, he is a computer programmer who became an art dealer and back to programmer. He’s planning to retire in 2 or 3 years as soon as his son leaves for college. He believes we work to live not live to work and he means it too. Simple lifestyle and compact enough to pack and move when the time is right. What’s really the meaning of life if all we do is to be trapped in a rat race without seeing all this planet has to offer. We are going to meet at Chelsea Market and catch up over a cup of coffee. I’m excited to hear about his stories.

It’s raining but I don’t mind the rain. New York is always full of life and energy and has so much to offer from modern and sophisticated art to a huge variety of international cuisines. For instance, we had dinner last night at Cipriani Downtown. If you’re looking for good food, great atmosphere and fun entertainment, this is the place. So all and all a little bit of rain just makes the adventure more interesting!
